SMS Terms and Conditions

Introduction

By providing your mobile phone number to Urban League of the River Valley (“we,” “us,” “our”), you consent to receive periodic SMS or MMS messages from us. These messages may include important updates, community alerts, program notifications, exclusive offers, and other communications related to our services and initiatives.

Providing Your Telephone Number and Notification Obligations

You affirm that the mobile number you have provided is accurate and current. You represent that you are the authorized subscriber or owner of any telephone number you provide. By voluntarily providing your telephone number(s), you explicitly consent to receive recurring automated and non-automated text messages from Urban League of the River Valley regarding our programs, events, community resources, and initiatives. Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of receiving SMS/MMS messages at any time by:

  • Texting “STOP,” “END,” “CANCEL,” “UNSUBSCRIBE,” or “QUIT” in response to any message from us.

  • Not all carriers may support our service.
  • T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Data Collection and Use

In connection with this SMS service, we may collect and store:

  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your wireless carrier’s name
  • The date, time, and content of messages exchanged

We use this information solely for communication purposes and do not share, sell, or trade your data for marketing purposes.

Service Modifications and Termination

By subscribing to our SMS/MMS service, you acknowledge that we may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice.

Indemnification

By opting into our SMS services, you agree to indemnify Urban League of the River Valley against any claims arising from:

  • Providing a telephone number that is not owned by you.
  • Failing to notify us of a change in your telephone number.
  • Any claims related to the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) or state law equivalents.

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and legal expenses arising from such issues.

Participation Requirements

By subscribing to our SMS service, you affirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old.
  • If you are between 13 and 17, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to receive SMS messages.
  • You possess a wireless device capable of two-way messaging.
  • You are a customer of a participating wireless carrier and have a text messaging service.

If we become aware that a subscriber under 13 has signed up without parental consent, we will take immediate steps to remove their number from our system.

Miscellaneous

You warrant and represent that you have all necessary rights, power, and authority to agree to these terms. If any provision in these terms is deemed unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, ensuring that the remaining terms remain in full force.
